Properties: colorless transparent cubic crystals or white granular powder. Relative density 1.64. Melting point 93.5 ℃, odorless, astringent taste.
Slightly soluble in water, the solubility of 15g / 100ml water at 20 ℃, soluble in water, acidic aqueous solution. Soluble in dilute acid, glycerin, insoluble in alcohol.
Lost , 10 crystal water at 120 ℃, heated to 200 ℃ into anhydrous (dry alum), decomposition at 280 ℃.
Uses: used in water purification, electroplating, paper making, tanning, pharmaceuticals, printing, food and other industries; also used to produce foam extinguishing agent.
